Silai collection by Charlotte Lancelot for GAN, uses old stitching techniques in a contemporary embroidery approach, with an amazing design result, that i could not have passed by.
Her work is based on 4 basic traditional hand stitches, that can be combined with one another, towards a more modern appearance. The collection also uses four colour groupings that can be placed together to create all kind of interesting chromatic compositions.
The collection has a mobile identity that allows many assembly designs, according to your own aesthetics and space available!
The philosophy of the collection comes with design products, such as rugs, poufs, and cushions. The rugs contain a main framework, defined by the different stitches that vary in colour combinations.
You can find Silai collection and all their stunning and original products at GAN’s site and stay updated in GAN rugs Facebook page.
The title of this collection-Silai- means small stitches in Hindi language, how cool is that? Enjoy this Deco Friday’s post and stay in touch for contemporary embroidery design collection-part 02 next week!
