Anton Alvarez is a Chilean-Swedish artist-designer that experiments with thread wrapped objects. For his work he invented in 2012 the Thread Wrapping Machine, which permits him to join wooden or other material pieces-scraps with only a glue-coated thread and create design objects that amaze! Without using any of the traditional joinery techniques he produces thread wrapped benches, chairs, stools and lighting objects.
Each object is wrapped with colourful and vivid threads and becomes a textile unique piece of art and design! But, it does not stop there: His thread covered creations experiment with scale and compose (thanks to a newer giant version of The Thread Wrapping Machine) architectural elements and unique spaces!
